I. School environment
The school is located in the western suburbs of Changhua city in central Taiwan, just under one kilometer from the Changhua highway interchange, in a mixed zone of agricultural, industry, business and residential housing. The school acts as a foundation for local education, parental education, and acts as a focal point for growing local education, volunteer efforts, and as a result, the community as well in one unified group of activities. While the school campus covers only 197 hectares, it is still quite complete including leisure facilities, classroom building, and sports facilities, all in a systematic layout.
II. History
- "Tung-Fang Public School" established on August 1, 1947.
- Name of " Tung-Fang Public School" was changed into "Tung-Fang Elementary School" on August 1, 1968 to implement nine years compulsory education.
- The preschool was set up on June 24, 1980.
- The preschool was recruited as a supplementary school on August 1, 1989.
- The Night School was established on August 25, 1999.
III. School mission statement
Our mission statement is Happy students, diligent teachers, and responsible parents", and may be explained as follows:
- Education and character are at the center of all everything, so we strongly emphasize these in a variety of ways in order to develop both education, and mature character, in students in a fun and enjoyable way.
- Using "service administration" team leadership, we provide teachers and students with omni-directional service, emphasizing mutual respect between teachers and students and the promotion of teaching quality. In addition to respect for teachers' specialties and independence, we also positively initiate the academic organization - encouraging the teachers to take advanced courses and help to lead teams, promotes teaching knowledge, enable the teacher to teach deeper, happier, and more effectively.
- Parents (and guardians) provide many pipelines to open hearts, improve communication, interact with each others' ideas, and to support the school's educational environment and their charges in education.
IV. School educational environment
We include multi-faceted nature, individuality, and adaptability, in small classes in the spirit of education. We do this to promote education, liveliness, health, gratitude, and e-awareness. We hope that the environment will guide children to learn cooperation, develop elf- awareness, show loving care for their native home, take a broad view the world, protect and appreciate the school environment and warm new campus, as well as pursuing continual education to grow and develop.

VI. Development directions (goals)
- To introduce an academic school, providing a high-quality environment in which for students to study and teacher to advance their education as well.
- To establish a green school, placing the impetus on teachers and students alike to take advantage of the Earth limited resources by recycling and conserving resources and energy.
- To build a campus from which "happy studies and healthy growth" will be brought in the community in an auspicious impact.
- To plan "a complete person curriculum" to develop individuals own natures, native and international consciousness, democratic accomplishments, and the well-rounded student personality development.
- To inspire children’s potential, their strive for perfection, their remarkable development, and their entry into e-generation as high quality nationals.
- To co-ordinate with society to build community, to educate the population in environmental protection work, and to promote quality of life and cultural accomplishment.
